Message from Bennett
Bennett is committed to providing accessible service to our customers. Persons with disabilities will be given an equal opportunity to obtain, use or benefit from our services. Information, products and services will be provided in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of the individual. Our policy is to meet the Accessibility Standards in Ontario.
Introduction
391395 Ontario Limited (Operating as Bennett Tools and Hardware) strives to meet the needs of its employees and customers with disabilities and to remove and prevent barriers to accessibility.
Bennett is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. This accessibility plan outlines the steps we are taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.
Our plan shows how we will play our role in making Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians.
The plan is reviewed and updated at least once every 5 years.
Past Achievements to Remove and Prevent Barriers
Bennett ensures that it maintains the following core principles:

Dignity - Persons with a disability must be treated as valued persons same as persons with no disability.

Equality of Opportunity - Persons with a disability are able to use and benefit from our services the same as persons without disabilities

Integration – Where anything does not serve the needs of the person with a disability, to the extent possible services will be provided in another way that takes into account the person’s needs

Independence – We will always assist a person with a disability however not without their permission.
In addition, we operate fully accessible facilities.
Bennett welcomes feedback and has outlined in its policy how it can receive feedback.
As a manufacturer where customers primarily pick up products from our site, as well as employee needs being addressed upon hire or as they come up, there hasn’t been many instances where specific actions needed to be taken. We have made sure that we have addressed every instance that relates to communication, employment, training, designed of public spaces, transportation and anything else that comes up that is needed.
Strategies and Actions
Bennett is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities. This means that we will provide goods, services and facilities to people with disabilities with the same high quality and timeliness as others.
Bennett is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities. Bennett is committed to fair and accessible employment practices. Bennett is committed to providing training as it applies to people with disabilities.
Bennett will meet accessibility laws when building or making major changes to public spaces. Preventative maintenance of accessible elements in public spaces is assessed on an ongoing basis and emergency maintenance and temporary disruptions of the same are fixed immediately.
Bennett is committed to accessible transportation services.
Bennett will continue take action at the earliest practicable point to address and resolve items pertaining to these items mentioned.
